DUST- an eating opera
In 2012 composer Line Tjørnhøj met HRH Princess Basma bint Ali, founder of The Royal Botanic Garden (RBG) of Jordan. Together they shared ideas and thoughts. The RGB is running a grand scale Community Development Project to conserve the flora, the biodiversity of Jordan and empowerment of women in Tal Al-Rumman. The RBG are providing training for the local community where they work with sustainable water management, solar energy and supporting the craftsman skills of the women into a new contemporary product design. Out of this flourished the ideas on how art and cultural exchange could merge and grow into Dust. As the RBG works with locally produced crops and craft traditions related to the ritual of dining, the idea of an eating opera was born.

Now in 2015 we would like to present the dessert; sharing the peaceful powers of coffee. In 2017 DUST will become an opera staged as a three-course meal, performing in Aarhus as well as in the hills of Tal Al-Rumman. The cushions, on which you are seated, the cups, from which you will drink and the napkins to clean your hands are all made by the women in Tal Al-Rumman.

Please enjoy and welcome to DUST - an eating opera.
